Marketing Assistant
Founded in 2008, Tutu School is a quaint and whimsical collection of boutique ballet schools designed to foster creativity and joy while encouraging tiny dancers to fully exercise their imagination as well as bodies. With over 100 locations across the U.S. and Canada, Tutu School provides an imaginative curriculum that celebrates the magic of childhood and builds confidence through movement.
We are Tutu Collective Inc., a proud multi-unit franchisee of Tutu School. We currently operate 11 Tutu School locations across California, New York and Connecticut. We are hiring for a Marketing Assistant. This position will report directly to the Director of Business Operations.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Marketing Assistant who thinks like a marketer and sells like a relationship builder. This role will support local marketing efforts across our regions with a strong focus on events, partnerships, community outreach, and lead generation.
The goal of this position is not simply to create awareness, but to turn that awareness into action: new families discovering our brand, attending a trial class, and ultimately becoming members of our community.
You will be responsible for the full cycle of event and partnership planning, from identifying opportunities and pitching partners to preparing for events, coordinating staffing and logistics, communicating with partners, and following up afterward. You will often be the first interaction a business, organization, influencer, or community partner has with our brand, so professionalism, confidence, and strong communication are essential.
This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with our Director of Business Operations, Regional Directors, Social Media Coordinator, Marketing Coordinators, and teaching teams across multiple markets.
Responsibilities
Event & Partnership Marketing
Identify and pursue local events, partnership, sponsorship, and community marketing opportunities across our regions.
Own the full event lifecycle, including research, outreach, pitching, preparation, staffing, execution, communication, and follow-up.
Confidently pitch partnerships through email, phone calls, video calls, and in-person conversations.
Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, schools, family-focused brands, influencers, and community groups.
Coordinate event logistics, materials, staffing, schedules, promotional assets, and on-site needs.
Represent the brand professionally at community events and partnership activations.
Follow up with event attendees and leads with the goal of driving trial classes, studio visits, and memberships.
Track partnership and event results and identify opportunities to improve future activations.
Local Marketing & Lead Generation
Support organic marketing initiatives designed to increase local brand awareness and drive new customer acquisition.
Help develop creative ways to bring new families into our studios and communities.
Support promotional campaigns, local outreach, community initiatives, and grassroots marketing efforts.
Assist with influencer partnerships, collaborations, and local creator activations.
Develop relationships that create ongoing referral and lead-generation opportunities.
Content & Social Support
Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator to support content creation for events, partnerships, and local marketing initiatives.
Assist with creating simple graphics, promotional materials, Reels, and other marketing content.
Help capture content at events and partnership activations when needed.
Maintain brand consistency across communications and marketing materials.
Canva and Asana experience is a plus.
Paid Marketing Support
While this role is primarily focused on organic and local marketing, you should be comfortable working alongside paid marketing efforts.
Support paid social, boosted content, and other digital campaigns as needed.
Understand how organic partnerships and events can complement paid marketing efforts.
What We're Looking For
Strong sales and relationship-building skills with the confidence to initiate conversations and pitch opportunities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional, polished, and comfortable being the first point of contact with a potential partner.
Experience working with influencers, partnerships, events, community marketing, or business development.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Able to manage multiple events, partnerships, and deadlines across different regions.
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Comfortable communicating with a wide range of people through email, phone, video calls, and in person.
Creative and resourceful with the ability to think of new ways to connect with local families and businesses.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
Strong follow-through and a proactive approach to communication.
Experience with Canva and Asana is a plus.
Comfortable working with social media and creating basic marketing content.
Experience with paid social or digital advertising is a plus but not required.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means creating meaningful local connections that turn into measurable business results. You will help us expand our presence in each market, build strong community partnerships, generate new leads, and ultimately drive more families into our studios through trial classes and memberships.
We are looking for someone who doesn't wait for opportunities to come to them. You see a local business, event, influencer, or organization and think, "How could we partner?" Then you confidently reach out, build the relationship, and make it happen.
